Kura Reo Kāi Tahu 2010

This reo wānaka on Kāi Tahu history and dialect, whakataukī/whakatauākī and kīwaha, tikaka and kawa, creative writing and composition, and kapa haka.

Each morning there will be a tikaka and kawa session with Kāi Tahu kaumātua, which will be a total immersion setting. Afternoons are set aside for classes specifically about te reo, where there are two streams – bi-lingual and total immersion.


There are classes for tamariki. Taina (0-4 year olds) and Tuākana (5-14 year olds). Please note that the child/ren must be able to converse in te reo Māori at all times, if not then your child/ren will not be able to attend this reo wānaka.

Ki hea: Te Hapa o Niu Tireni Marae, Arowhenua

There are limited spaces for each class, this is due to teaching space and accommodation available at the marae.
