crafars bite the kumera

Crafar Farms in recievership. Good riddence to bad rubbish and think again crafars if you believe you can run and hide.

"The nation's biggest family-owned group of dairy farms, Crafar Farms, was today placed in receivership.

The receivers are working with the Crafar family and its managers to assess the situation and address financial and operational problems, said Michael Stiassny, appointed receiver with Brendon Gibson of KordaMentha.

"We will be doing our best to ensure it is business as usual for the farms as we work to assess the situation," Mr Stiassny said, adding that the priority was to ensure the welfare of all livestock and that the receivers would be visiting all the properties involved over the next 24 hours.

He said they were getting co-operation from the Crafars and had spoken with Allan Crafar: “We are holding discussions. I think it's fair to say at the moment we have common interest around the welfare of animals on the farm and workers on the farm and therefore have co-operation.”

Mr Stiassny said Mr Crafar was of the view that “there is not significant expenditure necessary to ensure the welfare of the animals or environment.”

Why would you listen or believe anything he says - look at his track record, look at the convictions - what else do you need as evidence that he is a liar at worse and an idiot at best.

"The Crafar family, based in the Bay Of Plenty at Reporoa, has grown from its original property to 22 farms with 20,000 milking cows, 10,000 other stock, 200 staff and around $200 million of debt with Westpac, Rabobank and PGG Wrightson Finance. "

$200 million FFS - it's not what you know it is who you know.

I'd like to bring back public stocks and shaming for this lot. And for all their greedy lenders and supporters.
