In India they are also concerned about the destruction of the environment to further the interests of developers.
The more we can recognise that the struggles here are matched in many countries around the world and that what we want here is not weird or unusual but normal and common, then the more we will be able to make gains and solidify improvements.

the plight of mainland indian tribal groups is rather bad. they are culturally marginalised and economically among the worst off in the country. the land they live on is rich in minerals, and coveted by large homegrown corporations. as marginal groups, governments have largely ignored their needs, even giving them nasty deals when relocating them. even the celebrity obsessed media ignore these issues! good on you, for bringing this up, marty!
