Should the Maori Party be involved with trying to find a way through the impass regarding Fiji?
"The Maori Party has flown into controversy over plans to lead a delegation to negotiate with Fiji coup leader Voreqe Bainimarama.
The prime minister distanced the Government from the move yesterday, but said he would not stop Maori Party co-leader Pita Sharples going to Fiji."
Goff says that it could give some comfort to the regime.
"Labour leader Phil Goff said the visit risked giving comfort to the military regime on the back of unprecedented action from the Pacific Islands Forum."
Hmmm I have to say I don't listen to much that the labour party says at the moment - especially when they are ripping into the Maori Party, but it is a fair point.
Do sanctions work?
UPDATE: The trip is off.
