I haven't posted about this massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico but i have been thinking about it a lot.
This spill is about to devestate the coastline, the waterways, the wildlife and the indigenous communities in the way. I know most talk about the ECONOMIC cost but that is the lowest costs of the costs that we will pay.
And how many oil wells around this country?
How many after gerry-monster has his way?

Kia ora Marty,
The Gulf of Mexico is an entire storage pit of oil for the states to exploit, originally as a military reserve, but also to use to offset prices elsewhere. This, like the Exxon Valdez in Alaska, was an accident waiting to happen. The oil companies will skate through, the taxpayer ultimately pay for the clean up. The Valdez has faded from view, but the Alaskan coastline it impacted is damaged today and forever. The only reason a big deal is being made about this is the population along the coasts and the real fact the oil will soon invade the Mississippi river delta. The people should be hurling bricks and worse at those responsible, BP, the Coast guard, and the government. They are liars.

I agree Robb and I remember Hurricane Katrina - the big news at the time was the impact upon all those oil wells - we all pay the price, as you say, now and into the future. They are liars and they are scum.
