lay-goff-bore

Labour - what a joke. They are now not supporting the repeal of their Foreshore and Seabed legislation - it has become a farce goff says, let maori go to the courts he implores. Does he actually believe in anything apart from the frenetic desire to get power back?

My comment on The Standard is this
Well I spose at least the maori labour MP’s will maybe feel better about following their voting instructions now – it always seems weird that they and their team were supporting the repeal of labours own act. And if it becomes a festering sore for labour to inherit they can always do what they did before, can’t they – but it will depend on how many votes they think they will get or lose, as per usual.
But Tariana says it all with this comment from Stuff
Maori Party co-leader Tariana Turia mocked the change of heart from Labour.
"I would say they've been watching all the representations that have come to the committee. They think that every Maori in the country is against it, but what they don't realise is that there's not one Maori in the country that's forgotten what they did.''
I am against the Bill because I believe it doesn't empower maori. labour and goff are opposed because they might lose votes and that is why I won't vote for that party or that fake.

I sometimes wonder why we have an opposition party? What is the point, they hardly hold the government to account. Look at Patsy Wong they want to show that Pansy's husband has been up to no good but at the same time they know this exposes dear old Jenny Shipley. Politics will be the winner on the day. Same with the seabed and foreshore. Stance, threat, jibe and withdraw. Pathetic way to run a party. At this rate the John Key party will easily be re-elected and then the real deal will start. I understand they are planning for some severe changes of a public nature in their second term.

Kia ora Marty,
Phil just continues to go from weak to weaker. One of the more disappointing acts in politics. I thought he had the experience and nous to really be effective in opposition but he has been a dismal failure on all counts. He is not regathering votes, he is delivering them to the nats and Winston. Booo!!

I would never vote for labour but I don't think I can vote for the maori party next election if they support this. if they just legitimise anti-maori policies they're worse than nothing.

btw do you know anything about rapanui? I'm trying to find out what is going on and if we can help but... the media is not very informed :-/
